I had the exciting opportunity to design the entire identity of a new independent online news platform in Moldova.
The goal was to create a modern, fun and strong brand identity that will allow the company to engage with their audience through digital channels.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Understanding the context
In June 2016, I had the exciting opportunity to design the entire identity of a new independent online news platform in Moldova. The goal was to create a modern, fun and strong brand identity that will allow the company to engage with their audience through digital channels.


THE PROCESS

The first step in the development of this new brand identity was creating the brief. Together with the client we defined the target audience, objectives, concerns, brand values, and the desired look and feel. With no further hesitation, I jumped into ideating. I created a moodboard with 3 different visual directions. Once the moodboard was approved, I started sketching and developing visual concepts for the logo and the brand assets.

 
 

SOLUTION

A modern, eccentric and clean look and feel

The use of geometric shapes allowed me to create a dynamic and modern look and feel that would enhance the connection between the brand and its target users - the millennials. The vibrant colors and bold shapes support the brand's value and evoke feelings of professionalism and trust. Overall the identity concept, colors, and shapes make KOMETA stand out from media competitors in Moldova.

As a result, I created a branding style guide that connects to the brands' purpose of becoming a premier digital platform that delivers news that people can trust.
